While production for "The 100" Season 3 is in full swing, EP Jason Rothenberg continues to tease the show's fans with updates via his Twitter account. His recent cryptic post of "homecomings, broken promises and mass death" have stirred fans' curiosity on its meaning and how it relates to the show.
Ecumenical News reports that fans of the post-apocalyptic drama have had their emotions disturbed and hearts broken by the violence and massacres that have been regular fares in the series throughout its two seasons. Judging from Rothenberg's recent tweet, it looks like fans need to prepare themselves for more of the same.
"The 100" Season 3 may see another bout of mass casualties in the same vein as Bellamy and Clarke's extermination of the people of Mount Weather in Season 2. The homecoming and broken promises parts of Rothenberg's tweet are a little harder to decipher. Surely, loyal fans of the series would love to read this as a hint that Clarke will be coming home to the Sky People after she left them at the end of Season 2.
Two days prior to the said Twitter post, Rothenberg tweeted about being brought to tears by a big and emotional Bellamy scene reports Christian Today. Immediately, fans also took to Twitter to speculate that the scene was either because of Clarke or because of a rumored death of someone that Bellamy deeply cared about. Showrunner Aaron Ginsburg had previously confirmed that the Season 3 premiere will see the death of a character who is a fan favorite.
The death of a loved one is one of the problems that will plague the Sky People in the upcoming season. Clarke's absence will have a big impact on their lives even as Bellamy will step up as the new leader of Camp Jaha according to Vine Report. Then, there is still the biggest question that fans want answered since last season's finale - has Clarke fully deserted her people and joined the Grounders?
All of these questions and more will be answered when "The 100" returns for a third season in 2016.
