"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson is prepared to hit the big screen in upcoming movie "I'm Not Ashamed". The film centers one of the student victims during the Columbine school shooting in 1999.
CNS News said that the film is based on the story of Rachel Joy Scott, 17 and a devout Christian. Rachel was the first student who got killed during the 1999 massacre. The trailer for this 2016 film has just been released.
The 18-year-old Robertson will play the role of Scott's cousin who was also the person responsible for Scott's conversion into being a Christian. Other casts include Robertson's younger sister, Bella Robertson who will also act as one of Scott's cousins. Moreover, Robertson's mother, Korie Robertson, is also present to play Scott's aunt.
Columbine killers, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, knew Scott as the teenager had shared with them her faith in Jesus. Just before her death, the two guys asked her, "Do you still believe in your God?". While a gun is pointed to her head, she responded, "You know that I do." The title of the movie, "I'm Not Ashamed" is drawn directly from the writings of Scott.
Producer Chuck Howard of Big Film Factory was excited to have the amazing Robertsons aboard, Washiton Times wrote. The family has been known for their humorous and faith-filled interactions among family members and friends during their famous A&E reality TV show. "They really are what you see," Howard said.
According to the Examiner, this film that is expected on the big screen in April 2016 has the projected production amount of 26 million dollars and it is funded by private donors. The majority of the profits from the movie are anticipated to be given to global Christian mission work.
Many awaits "I'm Not Ashamed" movie not only to see Sadie Robertson, but also to know the message from the Columbine incident that was not heard enough. However, some fans argue that there are other victims whose stories are not shown.
