After being sued by Mitsou in December, Beyonce and Jay Z are now requesting for a dismissal of the lawsuit over their big song "Drunk in Love."
Hungarian performer Mitsou, born Mónika Juhász Miczura, is claiming that Beyonce and Jay Z don't deserve all the credit from the said song. Mitsou filed a lawsuit stating that Bey and Hov used a distorted and edited sample of her original 1995 song "Bajba, Bajba Pelem" outside her consent.
Yahoo reported that Juhasz is claiming audio of her performing the traditional Roma folk song she knew from her grandmother was taken and "digitally manipulated without her permission" and used during the production of "Drunk in Love".
She made an appeal before a judge to grant her undetermined damages. The Hungarian singer also demanded the soundtrack be banned from playing on the airwaves unless her own vocals were taken out of the song.
To answer this allegation, Beyonce is striking back at Juhasz asserting that the vocals are from her and they were digitally remastered within the studio.
The "Crazy in Love" superstar also claims that Juhasz did not make it clear if she possesses a copyright of the Bajba, Bajba Pelem. Furthermore, Beyonce explained that the hit song as well as the video are both protected under the power of the American constitution because of artistic expression.
Meanwhile, Jay Z and Beyonce, are set to perform in "TIDAL X: 1020 Amplified by HTC" on Oct 20, said Las Vegas Sun. This concert, which includes performances from other huge stars, will happen in Barclays Center, Brooklyn
In another article from Visit Philly, the two superstars were also present during last month's Made in America Music Festival in Philadelphia. With many other of top performers on multiple stages all over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the event was an epic one.
Not everyone may like Beyonce And Jay Z's "Drunk In Love" song, but most of the fans want to know the truth behind the lawsuit filed with regard to the song. Was it really their original composition? Will the judge be in favor of their dismissal request?
