Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios have finally decided to make "Toy Story 4" with a tentative release date of June 16, 2016 to the delight of fans and moviegoers alike. As for the plot, director John Lasseter says that it will be a special and emotional love story between Woody and Bo Beep.
AZ Daily Sun shares that "Toy Story" pioneered the first feature film for computer-generated animation in 1995. This feature forever change the way visual effects was done in live action movies.
Right after more than 250 computer-generated films were released. But John Lasseter, who also happens to direct "Toy Story 4", took note of the rendering systems that were used when they started production back in 1991. He says that it was not that sophisticated as it is today.
Despite the digital-animation program that was created by Ed Catmull, who also happens to be the executive producer of the animation, they still had their limitations. Still, they firmly believed that they could do it. Lasseter mentions that they were aware of what computer animation could and could not do, so, they focused on the strengths of the graphics at that time.
The Los Angeles Times reports that there was a deep understanding that it was not about the technology right from the start according to Ed Catmull. He says that their goal has always been about the story. Although, most of the critics uniformly mentioned a one liner explantion that it was done on a computer. With that they knew that they succeeded and they were extremely proud of what they have achieved.
This was confirmed by the managing director for programming, education, and preservation, Randy Haberkamp. cRandy says that even with all the technology people wouldn't be talking about the film if the storyline wasn't as strong as it was and the characters were not interesting as they were.
They achieved such a plot by eliminating what they didn't want to do which led them to a realization for the plot of "Toy Story." Ultimately, the story that they desired to formulate was not to be like the rest of the animated films at that time. Expectantly, the storyline for "Toy Story 4" will be unique as well.
Having mentioned that, speculations for the plot of "Toy Story 4" is said to focus on Woody and Bo Beep, according to CrossMap. Lasseter is quoted saying " As we were looking around we came up with this idea because Bo Peep was not in 'Toy Story 3,' and it actually worked beautifully into this....so Woody and Buzz light-year go out to find Bo Peep and bring her back, and it's a very special and emotional love story."
With John directing the fourth sequel, he is in familiar territory since he directed the first "Toy Story" as well as the second follow up film. The Chairman for Walt Disney Co. acknowledges his taking charge and is in high spirits for having him back to direct "one of our most valuable properties."
With "Toy Story 4" possibly hitting theaters on June 16, 2016, director John Lasseter hopes to surpass all films before that. With a more sophisticated technology nowadays and with a special love story between Woody and Bo Beep, Walt Disney and Pixar hopes to wow moviegoers.
