'Goosebumps' is an upcoming action-adventure comedy film based on the children's book series of the same name popularized back in the 1990's. Newly released clips show Jack Black as the series' author R.L. Stine. Odeya Rush, Halston Sage and other cast members join the star-studded film premiere in Los Angeles, California.
According to Slash Film, previously released official trailers reflected R.L. Stine's horror fiction novellas in that they were spooky and funny at the same time. The books, published from 1992 through 1997, followed children who found themselves in strange, unnerving situations and often plagued by supernatural creatures of some sort. One of the trailers showed the mayhem caused by the escape of the monsters Jack Black's character once kept locked away in his books.
Newly released clips posted by Comic Book Resources revealed goofy scenes involving flying vases, campy humor and even a vicious werewolf in a supermarket. The clips also introduced young stars Odeya Rush, Dylan Minnette and Ryan Lee to waiting fans and audiences. Rush portrays R.L. Stine's daughter Hannah, Minette is their teenage neighbor Zach and Lee is Zach's friend Champ.
The monster references made in the exclusive clips and official trailers are adapted from the Stine's collection of books published by Scholastic. These include the werewolf, the abominable snowman, Slappy the Dummy, the invisible boy and the army of evil gnomes. The creatures were inspired by fictional characters in other books and film releases.
Several cast members attended the film's premiere in Los Angeles, California last October 4, 2015, according to The Daily Mail. It proved to be a star-studded event graced by some of Hollywood's famous personalities including Gene Simmon's daughter Sophie, Jaden Smith and Kathryn Hahn.
