The upcoming "Assassin's Creed" movie, which is based on the popular game of the same name, has been the talk of most people. Now, reports have emerged that Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson are joining the said film.
According to Deadline, Jeremy Irons (Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Brendan Gleeson (Braveheart) are two new cast members for the "Assassin's Creed" movie starring Michael Fassbender. Both Irons and Gleeson will reportedly be playing father figures respectively, with the former taking the role of Marion Cotillard's character's father and the latter doing the same for Fassbender's character.
The "Assassin's Creed" movie will be based upon the popular video game of the same name that has sold over $90 million units. The film will circle around a man who attains the skills of a master assassin after finding out that he is a descendant of another master assassin who was part of a secret society of professional killers.
Playstation Lifestyle, on the other hand, reported that Ubisoft recently revealed that the movie will be showcasing a new story as well as characters. Also, the story will most likely revolve around Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar from the 15th century Spain.
Apart from all of these, fans should expect the movie to have a universe similar to that of the video game series. Yibada reported that the plot of the film might involve a possible love story between Fassbender and Cotillard's character, but are not meant for each other due to the different deals of both the Assassin's and the Templar. It is worth nothing that such storyline is similar to the video game entitled "Assassin's Creed: Unity."
The film is helmed by director Justin Kurzel, while Fox distributes it. It is co-financed by RatPac and Alpha Pictures, while Frank Marshall, Arnon Milchan, Jean-Julien Baronnet, Conor McCaughan, Michael Fassbender and Pat Crowley are producing.
The "Assassin's Creed" movie is set to be released on December 21, 2016.
