It has been theorized that the Earth's Mightiest Heroes - "Avengers" - might be teaming up with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" to fight Thanos in the latter's sequel. This has also been teased by Dave Bautista whose character, Drax, will reportedly have a different look in the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."
When asked by Screen Rant about the possible crossover between the "Avengers" and the "Guardians of the Galaxy", Bautista replied with a resounding yes, noting just how much of a superhero fan he is. This is what he had to say: "Please let Drax be in 'The Avengers. Yeah, I hope it'll happen."
The former professional wrestler also admits that all are "rumors right now" and that he prays "every day - night, and afternoon, and after you walk out of the door."
However, according to Cinema Blend, director James Gunn had since considered the Guardians as something that is "separate" from the "Avengers". He pointed out that the Earth's Mightiest Heroes only have to worry about the planet's safety, while the Guardians have a whole galaxy under their shoulders.
But, of course, it is impossible for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies to be not included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe given the presence of the Infinity Stones and Thanos. Gunn's priority, according the publication, is to develop the cosmic universe - that means Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket need to have their antics.
In related news, speaking with MTV, Bautista gave a scoop on what to expect from his character Drax in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." "I put in my two cents with Marvel because I thought Drax needed a few more tattoos," he said. "I had some specific ideas, but what they want to do with Drax at the end of the day is up to the Powers That Be."
The 46-year-old actor confirmed that the whole gang is coming back, and that "there's going to be a lot more Drax."
Although the Avengers-Guardians of the Galaxy crossover has all the potentials to happen, it is still something that Marvel hasn't confirmed. "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
