The man behind "Jurassic World" and "Star Wars: Episode IX," director Colin Trevorrow, has started production on the upcoming drama movie "The Book of Henry." Although little has been known about the plot, the film reportedly tells the story of a single mother raising two boys. The director had also introduced the stars via his Twitter account.
According to SSI Insider, "The Book of Henry" follows a precocious little boy, who is raised by his single mother, serving a surrogate father to his younger brother. He then develops feelings toward the girl next door and swears to protect her from ongoing harm at the lands of her father. Surprisingly, the boy plots a murder.
The boy in the film is reportedly genius, and, as mentioned by Collider, the plot seems to be in line with Gregg Hurwitz's words, although it's understandable why Focus Features would want to play down with this angle for the moment. In addition, Thea Sharrock ("The Hollow Crown") was reportedly attached to helm the film, but there were no reported explanations as to how Trevorrow landed in the director's chair.
Entertainment Weekly, on the other hand, reported that the director teased moviegoers by way of posting a photo of the three young stars in his Twitter page. This row of up-and-comers kids are namely, Jacob Tremblay ("Room"), Jaeden Lieberher ("St. Vincent"), and Maddie Ziegler ("Dance Moms"). The photo's caption says: "Casting is everything."
The photo reportedly arrived Friday morning, as filming commenced in New York for "The Book of Henry." The film's details still remains a mystery, but what is known is that it features an original screenplay by novelist Gregg Hurwitz.
Naomi Watts will also star, alongside Dean Norris, Lee Pace, Sarah Silverman, and Bobby Moynihan. "The Book of Henry" will be produced by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment's (SKE) Sidney Kimmel and Carla Hacken, with Double Nickel Entertainment's Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman.
As of now, no official release date has been announced. Nonetheless, the movie seems to pique a certain level of interest, as its plot tackles the life a mother living together with his two sons.
