'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' main antagonist Lex Luthor Jr. is introduced to the world as a well-intentioned young entrepreneur following in his father's footsteps. Warner Bros.' newest viral ad campaign for the upcoming superhero film comes in an "interview" with Luthor Jr. in Forbes Magazine.
Lex Luthor Jr. was introduced as "a 31-year-old wunderkind who transformed an aging petrochemical and heavy machinery dinosaur into a tech darling of the Fortune 500 in what some call a superhuman feat." in an article by Forbes. The fictional interview is intended as Warner Bros.' latest ad campaign for much-awaited installment in the DC shared universe. The rest of the report read out like a tribute to Luthor Jr., making him sound like he is the good guy instead of the villain.
According to HitFix, the "interview" also hinted at several plot points including Alexander Joseph "Lex" Luthor Jr.'s inheritance, his company's involvement with the military, his collection of kryptonite as well as his father's unexpected passing in 2000. The article also painted Luthor Jr. as a genius jeans-wearing vegan CEO who took the reins in growing his family's business after its patriarch's untimely demise.
Actor and playwright Jesse Eisenberg will be portraying Luthor Jr. in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', according to the Independent. Audiences will not behold LexCorp's bald-headed power-hungry business magnate well-known in the comic book series but will be introduced to his son instead. Eisenberg is known for his previous work in films such as 'The Social Network', 'Zombieland', 'Adventureland', and 'Now You See Me'.
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming live-action comic book adaptation scheduled to be released on March 25, 2016. It will be the follow-up to 2013's 'Man of Steel' and precede 2016's 'Suicide Squad'. It also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
