Google has made an announcement that Android 6.0 Marshmallow has started to roll out its OTA updates to the supported Nexus smartphone devices. Meanwhile, there is no concrete news from Google about the arrival of Android Marshmallow update to the Android One smartphones, but the first generation is reportedly receiving its OTA update.
The first smartphone devices that run with Android 6.0 Marshmallow are Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P along with the Google Pixel C tablet. These handsets are launched in the very recent Google annual conference last September 29 this year. According to NDTV, Google also announced that Android One devices will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while announcing the roll-out of Android M to Nexus Devices.
As of now, the company didn't officially announced a particular time-frame to roll out for the Android One devices update. However, it is expected that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be heading its way to Android One devices. Surprisingly, recent news surfaced on the web about Android 6.0 Marshmallow that started seeding its updates to the Android One devices.
Base on the report of IBTimes, users of first gen Android One devices have been receiving the OTA update of Marshmallow. Moreover, the instructions on how to manually install the OTA update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow are indicated on the report. First gen Android One users are rather delightful of being included to receive the latest OS update.
Further reports about the roll out of Android M to Android One devices are also noted by GSMArena. The roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow has already started for the first generation of Android One. The devices to receive the OTA update are Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno.
The OTA update is roughly 339MB in size. Additionally, the update is said to bring the device to build number MRA58M. The Android One user doesn't need to deal with the complexity of its installation and could be done by any users regardless of their skills in technicalities because it'll come over-the-air.
