The team behind the critically acclaimed Dark Souls III is set to release their new expansion for yet another of their highly regarded and critically acclaimed games, Bloodborne. FromSoftware is scheduled to release an expansion that promises many hours of difficult, highly anticipated fun in the new Bloodborne The Old Hunters DLC.
The new Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC expansion is one of this year's most impressive and highly anticipated demos to come out at the Tokyo Game Show. The game's demo trailer video features a large extension from the regular game prior to the new DLC including new weapons, a new map area, and a number of new bosses to destroy. Fans continue to respond warmly to the game, eliciting high regard and praise for the demo version during the convention, even if the demo is a watered down release of the real thing.
According to a GameSpot interview with Sony Japan Bloodborne series producer Masaaki Yamagiwa at the Tokyo Game Show, The Old Hunters DLC expansion is regarded as an overall expansion for the game in that all aspects of the original game will definitely be given a wider berth. In terms of difficulty, the DLC resonates more to the latter half of Bloodborne. Yamigawa states that the DLC expansion was developed after the initial completion of the game and is designed specifically for playing after the original storyline.
Eurogamer was also able to interview Yamagiwa at the Tokyo Game Show event. The DLC itself was intended to be a two-part expansion pack, as stated by Yamagiwa. FromSoftware and Sony then decided that having one whole expansion for the game would allow for a greater leeway in the amount of content that can be produced, going hand in hand with the game's depth and gameplay for players to experience.
The PS4 exlusive Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC expansion pack will be available to gamers for digital download on November 24 for $19.99.
