Although it is yet to be given a go signal, The Expendables 4 could be in the works as claims suggest that Sylvester Stallone has started choosing actors for the film. Hulk Hogan and Dwayne Johnson are heavily linked to join the cast as villains while Salman Khan is courted to go on board.
According to Latinos Post, Stallone could be working on a fourth film as wrestling star Hulk Hogan revealed previously that he had talks with Stallone about the film and discussed about the possibility of having him play as a villain.
"We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out", Hogan revealed.
Furthermore, Hogan might not be the only one joining the cast as former WWE star, and actor Dwayne Johnson also expressed his interest in going on board for the film but he also revealed that he doesn't want to play in the same side as Stallone. "I don't want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*** that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to 'send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.'", Johnson said during a Reddit AMA.
Meanwhile, according to a report by Franchise Herald, Stallone posted a couple of tweets to Bollywood Star Salman Khan about joining the film. "Salman, I am very impressed with your many devoted fans. To make a great Action film Sucessful takes MANY great fans who support you, Sly" the actor reportedly said. "Maybe the New EXPENDABLES", he added.
The first two films earned good reception from the viewers. The first film earned $274.5 million in the box office while the second grossed $311.9 million. However, according to Master Herald, the third film did not match to the success of the previous films with only $206.2 million due to a leaked copy of the film that spread online three weeks before its release.
The previous films in the franchise featured some of the greatest action stars such as Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, and Harrison Ford to name a few. However, as of writing, no official details have been revealed yet regarding The Expendables 4.
