Paul Wesley reveals how Nina Dobrev's character will still be a part of 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7. Ian Somerhalder also spilled some details on how his character Damon is coping over Elena's situation. He also shares how the cast and crew is doing without the lead actress on set.
Paul Wesley who plays Stefan reveals to TV Insider that Elena (Nina Dobrev) will still have a major part in Season 7. Damon will sense that Elena's body is in danger. Because of that, he will ensure that Elena's body remains safe until she wakes up.
He will also protect her body as she becomes the next target of Lillian (Annie Wersching) and the heretics. The actor added that even though Nina Dobrev's character is under a sleeping curse, she will still have a major part in 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7.
Ian Somerhalder also shared how his character is doing without Elena and that the Vampire series is without the lead actress. Somerhalder told The Hollywood Reporter how 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 will be like without Nina Dobrev on the set.
He stated, "There's still a lot of elements of the show that was. There's still very much the presence of Elena. This is Mystic Falls without her. This is the evolution of this story. There's a lot of great interaction with the brothers."
As mentioned on People, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) still grieves over Elena's situation. Elena has been cursed to sleep for 60 years. Somerhalder states that Damon will spend more time dealing with depression and seeking company with his best friend Alaric (Matthew Davis) on the process.
