This year marks the 15th anniversary of the critically acclaimed stealth videogame Hitman from developer IO Interactive. The sixth installment to the Hitman series promises to revert to the old Hitman feel, according to developers. Opting to drop the subtitle from Hitman (2016), the game is set to release on March 11th of next year.
In an interview with Destructoid, Square Enix Studio Head at IO Interactive Hannes Seifert talked about getting back to the original feel of Hitman. According to Seifert, the time has come for the Hitman series to come back to its original make. The studio has already decided to forego the necessity of a subtitle in the sixth installment of the Hitman series. But that doesn't mean that graphics and gameplay will be compromised.
The official Showstopper Playthrough video showcases the various ways that Hitman (2016) will be the best release of the iconic stealth game to date. The new installment combines everything that was wonderful with Hitman - Blood Money, the all-out exceptional graphics and customizations available to players in Absolution, and the original feel of the old-school Agent 47 since the series started back in 2000. The surface area that Hitman (2016) will encompass will also be about six times as big as the map of previous installations of the game.
Gone is the lateral storyline that made Absolution a polarized success. In response to the critical feedback received when Absolution was released, IO Interactive and Square Enix have since done everything possible to bring back the original Agent 47. Official release details on the Hitman website will give you a graphical representation in purchasing Hitman (2016), scheduled to set sail on March 11. Pre-ordering the whole game will guarantee a Beta access pass, the complete March Launch Content, as well as the Post Launch Content, all for $59.99. The March Launch content will feature six campaigns, three sandbox areas, a total of forty iconic kills, a Contracts mode with around 800 targets in total, as well as weekly live hits and events for $34.99 (or equivalent). The additional contents that can also be purchased separately, upgrading the game with new campaign missions, three new sandbox areas, new iconic kills, new Contracts targets, and again the Weekly live hits and events for $29.99 (or equivalent).
