Certain celebrities continue to make rounds online as supposed members of the secret society, the Illuminati. Among the most talked about are popular Hollywood stars and music industry gurus particularly Jay Z, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian. The rumors seem to point out a direct correlation between massive successes and being part of a covert society of the world's most powerful.
One compilation done by Beliefnet pointed to super couple Jay Z and Beyonce's involvement in the controversial sect. It was reported that Shawn Corey Carter, well-known for his stage name Jay Z, has not become one of the most successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs without the help of backers in the Illuminati. It was reported that the musician is fond of flashing a symbol of the all-seeing eye during performances as well as including goat heads and other satanic symbols in music videos.
His pop mogul wife Beyonce has also caused some controversy connecting her to the Illuminati when she wore a goat skull in a photoshoot for her album 'I Am... Sasha Fierce'. Conspiracy theorists were also convinced that she caused the blackout during her 2013 Super Bowl performance when she threw up a hand symbol of a triangle.
Power couple Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian have also been tagged as members of the Illuminati. According to Ranker, West is also known for gesturing the triangle hand in concerts as well as pushing occult symbols in his music videos. His wife also had explicit Illuminati symbols on her 2013 Christmas card.
West finally spoke out against the allegations and outright denied any involvement with the controversial sect. According to International Business Times, the 38-year old rapper and producer cleared out the air and addressed the issue following the launch of Jay Z's music service 'Tidal' last March.
He said, "If there was actually an Illuminati, it would be more like the energy companies... Not celebrities that gave their life to music and who are pinpointed as decoys for people who really run the world." He added that celebrities don't run anything as they are merely the faces behind popular brands.
Madonna, one of the famous A-listers tied to the Illuminati rumors, also denied involvement but revealed that she knew actual members. She said that being called an Illuminati was actually a "compliment" since it referred to a historical society of enlightened scientists, philosophers, and artists.
