‘Equals’ Cast News: Kristen Stewart “mood oriented”; Nicholas Hoult reveals he's totally over breakup with Jennifer Lawrence

'Equals' actors Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult opened up about the implications the futuristic romance film had on them. Stewart stressed how great it was to star in a project that dealt with human emotions as she admitted she is quite "mood oriented". Hoult revealed that getting involved helped him get over his breakup with Jennifer Lawrence.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart and Hoult portray forbidden love in a futuristic "utopian" world where all emotions are ultimately eradicated. A disease called the Switched-on-Syndrome (SOS) causes Hoult's Silas to begin having feelings for Stewart's Nia, who is also infected and is trying hard to suppress it. The two decide to run away in order to survive together.

Stewart opened up about how great it was to work on 'Equals' during a candid interview with Vanity Fair. She loved that it was a film that tackled the raw intensity of pure human emotions as she herself revealed that she was mood oriented herself. She said, "I have a really strong aversion to feeling subject to something that doesn't feel real to me. And then all of a sudden I get weird. So, I kind of put off this opposite thing."

The 25-year old actress explained that her desire to engage in deeper, more meaningful conversations has rubbed the media off in the wrong way. She said that shunning superficial interviews because she couldn't invest fully in them gave her a reputation for being intimidating and unapproachable.

Hoult, meanwhile, also opened up about how the film helped him heal emotionally. According to The Daily Beast, Hoult dated Oscar-winner and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' co-actor Jennifer Lawrence. The two eventually went through a high-profile breakup in 2014 because of work and scheduling conflicts.

The English actor admitted that shooting 'Mad Max: Fury Road' for months on end in exotic locales contributed to his split from Lawrence. He said, "It's tricky, because you're all over the place... they're strange places that are difficult to get to. I wouldn't change it, because you're very fortunate to travel, meet new people, and embark on these new experiences, but it's not great for that side of things." Hoult and Stewart, who also went through a breakup with on-again-off-again boyfriend Robert Pattinson, both agreed that filming 'Equals' helped in their emotional healing.

'Equals' is a science-fiction romance film directed by Drake Doremus. It had its world premiere at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival where it competed for the Golden Lion award. It also premiered in North America as part of the Special Presentations program at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and will open in Argentina on December 31, 2015.
