'The Good Wife' Season 7 Recap, Update: Alicia Flirts w/ New Investigator; Julianna Marguiles teases – “I think Alicia needs some loving"

On the second week of "The Good Wife", viewers were finally introduced to Jason Crouse, a freelance investigator who after some setbacks, finally landed the coveted role of being Alicia’s henchman. Grey’s Anatomy alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrayed the character effortlessly, giving Alicia the instant connection to flirt with him. To this end, Julianna Margulies echoed her thoughts about Alicia's new chance at romance.

The chemistry between Crouse and Julianna Marguiles’ Alicia is undeniably strong, something that feels sexual right off the bat. As reported by TV Line, “Indeed, the vibe between Alicia and Jason is almost immediately flirty, with top notes of mutual lust and undertones of him eyeing her like a recent convert to Atkins staring down a plate full of pasta carbonara.”

While it’s too early for the legal drama to embellish Alicia’s relationship status as “taken” or “it’s complicated”, it is a no-brainer that "The Good Wife" has already laid out this plan for the rest of the season. Entertainment Weekly addressed this theory in a recap: “And let’s just say this: By the end of the hour, Amanda’s gone and Jason decides to work for Alicia despite the fact that Diane offers him more than double the salary. (Potential romance, anyone?)”.

Alicia’s portrayer, Julianna Margulies, weighed-in about this potential new romance in-store for her character.

"I think Alicia needs some loving. I think it's pretty important. I think the danger of her trying to do everything herself is, she's closing off a very vulnerable side of herself that she's becoming afraid of, to open up again,” the actress shared in a report from E! Online.

She also commented on how she enjoyed exploring the character’s vulnerability.

“And I'd love to see her find that vulnerable side, and I think she can only find that if she falls in love with someone and has the capacity to love back," she added.

"The Good Wife" introduced a potential love interest for Alicia Florrick on its second week. The character, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, developed an instant connection with Marguiles’ strategic lawyer. Viewers have yet to tune-in on the next episodes to find out how the two will hit it off in the romance department.
