Moto X 2014 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Coming Soon? WiFi Certifications Bring Hope

By

Ever since Google launched the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, Moto X 2014 users have been waiting for an update. There are developments in the Wi-Fi certifications of Motorola phones that suggests the update may soon come to them.

The Moto X 2014 has been left off the list of possible phones to receive the coveted Android M update. In addition, there were no indications that the phone would be receiving the new version until now.

Moto X 2nd Gen models XT1095 through XT1097 have been given another certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance for the new version of Android, according to Techno Buffalo.

Motorola just recently launched the phones a year ago and it would be bad for the company to just leave the users hanging. It could be understandable if the models were several years old, but it is fairly new.

Among all the available devices, Google's new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are the ones to come with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. Users with Samsung, LG, and other brands of Android phones will have to wait if the update will be available for their devices.

Motorola has already published a list of their phones that will be receiving the new update. The bad news is that the Moto X 2014 isn't on the list. Even the Moto X (2nd Gen) from AT&T and T-Mobile was excluded, according to Android Headlines.

The new certifications, however, brought the users some hope. In the certifications, it is written that the operating system and version was for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Fans have also speculated that the update would not only be for the Pure Edition XT 1095, according to Tech Times. The Moto X 2014 could still receive the update after all.

Motorola hasn't confirmed that the Moto X 2014 can still get the much anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Users will have to wait for official news regarding the new version.
