"Jurassic World 2" is still on its early development, thus further details from the forthcoming sequel remain to be a mystery. However, co-writer and executive producer Colin Trevorrow reportedly revealed his source of inspiration, which is Malcolm's quote. Reports also have it that the follow-up movie will take a whole new level, as it will reportedly include hybrid dinosaurs.
Colin Trevorrow, in his interview with Entertainment Weekly, said that "Jurassic World 2" has its foundation in the 1993 original and how everything "is all based on Ian Malcolm's quote," referring to the black-clad chaos theoretician played by Jeff Goldblum. The said quote is: "You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you knew what you had, you patented it, you packaged it, slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you want to sell it." Trevorrow explained that the said quote is what Jurassic World is all about, thus there were product placement involved.
The forthcoming dino-centric film will reportedly start a much vast story line, which concerns the relationship between humans and prehistoric animals that are dinosaurs. CrossMap mentioned how Trevorrow sees both Dinosaurs and humankind and that despite being seperated by 65 million years of evolution, both "have been thrown back into the mix together." He went on to say that "how can we know what to expect," and that he feels very confident that everything is not just about dinosaurs or even the bigger and better ones.
Meanwhile, iDigitalTimes reported that "Jurassic World 2" will most likely feature hybrid dinosaurs that will challenge human being's claim as the dominant species. And if this hold true, fans can certainly expect to see dinosaurs out roaming free, as they try to make the world their territory.
There are speculations about the cast of the sequel that it will bring back some characters from "Jurassic Park." Rumors say that Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neil, and Laura Dern are likely to join Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Patt, both of which are reprising their roles in the upcoming film.
Now that fans have a concrete idea to what "Jurassic World 2" would be thanks to Ian Malcom's quote, Colin Trevorrow's source for inspiration. The film will be launched on June 22, 2018.
