The long-wait is over as fans are finally getting some dope on the upcoming "Avatar 2" movie. Director James Cameron has reportedly confirmed that Stephen Lang's Col. Miles Quaritch will be returning to the sequel. There are also speculations that the said actor will be the movie's Darth Vader.

According to Parent Herald, director James Cameron has confirmed that Stephen Lang will be returning as Col. Miles Quaritch not only for the forthcoming "Avatar 2," but for the next three films as well. While many believed that the character has died after Neytiri shot him with an arrow in his chest twice, reports show that he's likely to return in the sequel.

In fact, as what International Business Times reported, Lang is believed to be just like Darth Vader of the "Avatar" series. His return is being linked to Vader's return in "Star Wars" as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger's role in "Terminator." The publication quoted Cameron saying: "Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back." The 61-year-old director, however, didn't unveil how "we're bringing him back, but it's a science fiction story, after all."

Inquisitr, on the other hand, reported how Lang's character "will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga." The director admitted how he "really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who's also become a good friend." Cameron reportedly said that Lang's character, Col. Miles Quaritch, will have a "Darth-Vader" style villain.

The highly-anticipated sequel to most popular futuristic sci-fi epic has been under production since 2014. However, fans have been getting their regular updates through several plot speculations and cast rumors. In addition, many speculate that "Avatar 2" will have a prison theme and focus on new creatures, underwater sceneries and the ecosystem of Pandora.

Meanwhile, fans will only know if Stephen Lang's return as Col. Miles Quaritch is as remarkable as "Star War's" Darth Vader when "Avatar 2" hits theaters in December 2017.
