Microsoft HoloLens First to Arrive to US, Canada Developers; Applications Still Under Development

By

Recently, Microsoft has announced that its augmented-reality device will first come to developers in Canada and the United States. This is to give more time for the developers to prepare their applications for the Microsoft HoloLens.

The Redmond-based tech giant's move to provide the HoloLens initially to developers is a brilliant idea. Since this virtual reality headset has an excellent potential, it is also of top-notch quality and user-friendly. Users won't find it hard to operate this device, for learning how to use it is very easy. The user can just simply put it on and adjust the strap, and he can start using it.

However, majority of the HoloLens' applications are still under development. With the demonstration provided by Microsoft, it clearly shows the high potential of the device in the gaming area. The Xbox One with Halo 5: Guardians was brought into play and it presented a superb holographic experience.

With regards to its price, the Microsoft HoloLens is pricier than its rivals. As previously reported by VCPost, the developer's kit is priced at $3000 and a maximum of two units can only be ordered. In contrast with its competitors, the Oculus Rift is offered only at $350, while the HTC Vive is free of charge for the developers.

Meanwhile, the device's hardware specifications are not yet officially announced. However, based on the demonstration unit that was seen recently, the HoloLens' eyepiece is a see-through holographic HD lens. The final product can either have a 720p or 1080p resolution and a 4K display.

Furthermore, the company is also planning to emphasize their augmented-reality device in Austin and Seattle. This is to convince developers to join the bandwagon, as per reports.

On the whole, virtual reality is taking a smooth entry to the market these days. With the help of the Microsoft HoloLens' developers, people could transform the way they use technology.
