This Sunday on "The Good Wife", Alicia will be teaming up with Lucca on a case involving a drug dealer. Meanwhile, fans will see Alicia reunited with Veronica as they participate in an event for Peter’s campaign. Actress Stockhard Channing will reprise her role as Alicia’s mother on the episode titled “Cooked”.
According to the episode description released by The Futon Critic, "The Good Wife" will continue to explore on Alicia and Lucca’s newfound friendship as they handle a “complicated court case involving a designer drug dealer.” To this end, it appears that the legal drama is really trying to pacify the fans who are missing the Alicia-Kalinda dynamic. If this works well for the show, co-creators Robert and Michelle King definitely deserve a pat in the back for casting Cush Jumbo for the role.
Elsewhere, Alicia will be seen again with her mother, Veronica, for a storyline connected to Peter’s campaign. As previewed on the latest promo released by Hollywood Hills, Stockhard Channing’s return as the always funny matriarch definitely gives a more energetic layer to this mother and daughter bonding.
However, don’t expect for the cooking show to fare successfully -- as the episode description revealed that it will cap-off with “disastrous results”.
This upcoming arc has been addressed by Carter Matt in a report, pointing out a slight hiccup for the Julianna Margulies-starred drama. “Here’s the problem: It’s a cooking competition, and do you really imagine in your head Alicia and Veronica doing something like this? It reminds us almost of the pie competition on “Parks and Recreation,” which ended up being a crazy and most unfortunate situation for Leslie Knope,” the site commented.
The Oct. 18th installment of "The Good Wife" titled “Cooked” will feature the return of Stockhard Channing as Alicia’s mother while also focusing on the newfound dynamic of Alicia and Lucca.
