Prior to the game's release on November 10, game developer Bethesda confirms through Twitter that Fallout 4 will be available for preloading in a few days. Preloading shall be available in all platforms, including PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The game developer Bethesda confirms through a Twitter post that preloading shall be available for Fallout 4, but did not announce any date. Pete Hines, Bethesda's Vice President for press release and marketing also confirmed such on a separate tweet. He said: "We will offer preloading for Fallout 4 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Exact day/time TBA. All should be available a few days before launch day".
The preloading feature is in consideration with the game's notable amount which needs a large capacity for a platform. According to PC Gamer, preloading is important as one does not know 'how large' Fallout 4 may come, but what is certain is its going to be large. Bethesda, on the other hand, stated that the game has a relatively small capacity of conventional DVD than that of Blu-ray discs. This is one reason why the game needs to be downloaded partially from Steam for PC players.
Preload of digital copies, on the other hand shall also be available prior to the game's release date. However, neither PS and Xbox platforms posted the size requirements for the game. PC, on the other hand, required a free space of 30 Gigabytes. Preloading has been the mainstay for PC for a couple of years now, and it is relatively new for consoles. Through preloading, according to Gamespot, one can start playing Fallout 4 from the instance that the game itself has been unlocked.
As the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition quickly sold out, there has been recently a Best Buy Edition which comes with a Season Pass and a pair of specially designed socks, according to IGN. Preorders in different platforms come with interesting bonuses too. Xbox One preorders come with a copy of Fallout 3 for free. On the other hand, PS4 preorders come with a nice looking theme while PC preorders on Steam comes with an announcer pack for DOTA 2.
With Fallout 4 coming out in November 10 along with a large size, the game developers have enabled the preloading scheme. It is important as it seems that the game's large content would require large capacity for platforms. Preloading also enables a player to play the game immediately after its release.
