'Suicide Squad' just released several exclusive photographs featuring the anti-heroes specifically Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Jared Leto's Joker. Several speculations emerged that the origins of their unusual relationship would be explained in the upcoming DC film. Joker is also featured on the spread of the latest issue of Empire Magazine.
According to Techno Buffalo, the latest group of images from the set of 'Suicide Squad' was released via Empire Magazine. One specific photograph showed Robbie's Harley Quinn back when she was still Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel in charge for the mental treatment of Leto's Joker. The two were facing each other across a simple table inside the Arkham Asylum, seemingly engaged in some kind of discussion.
Another article from /Film mentioned that the photograph of Dr. Harleen Quinzel and Joker resembled the classic image of what comic book enthusiasts would imagine how the two got together in the first place. Joker's depiction also seemed to be taken straight out of Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo's graphic novel 'Joker' that embraced dark realism and a grungy aesthetic for Gotham City's populous.
Other images released include a psychotic Harley Quinn balancing on a suspended rope wrapped in cloth within a holding cell, Cara Delevingne's Enchantress bathing in swamp water, and another photograph of Will Smith in full Deadshot costume.
The latest issue of Empire Magazine also has Leto's Joker on the front cover looking very post-modern punk - complete with a shiny purple cape, a cane, green hair and a smattering of tattoos. According to IGN, the December 2015 edition contains behind-the-scenes images on the film set of the newest DC and Warner Bro. collaboration.
