The sequel of "Planet of the Apes" is underway and Judy Greer is slated to assume her previous role as Chimpanzee Cornelia.
"War of the Planet of the Apes" continues the "Planet of the Apes" movie franchise, originally adapted from the hit science fiction novel of French author Pierre Boulle in 1968. This upcoming movie will be the third installment of the series and will still be under the direction of Matt Reeves.
In the sequel, Judy Greer will continue her role as Caesar's mate Cornelia. Together with Judy, other characters are also expected to be taken by their previous castings as cited by Movie News Guide.
Andy Serkis is still in for the role of chief-monkey, 'Caesar', Karin Konoval will also be returning as the gentle Orangutan, Maurice. Aside from these three, other stars noted to join in the film are James Pizziniato, Mercedes de la Zerda, Gabriel Chavarria, Terry Notary, Amiah Miller, Max Lloyd-Jones, Steve Zahn and Woody Harrelson who will be playing the antagonist of this film as 'The Colonel'. This movie also introduces a new ape on Caesar's side named 'Continuum' portrayed by Aleks Paunovic.
"War for the Planet of the Apes" will supposedly take place a year after "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," which ended in an all-out battle between the humans and the chimps. In a report by Yibada, Greer's role will have more significance in this sequel, so it is presumed that she will have more screen time.
It seems that Greer is having a blast in this period of her career having finished multiple projects: "Entourage", "Tomorrowland", "Ant-Man" and "Jurassic World". The latter two blockbuster movies are confirmed to have sequels; "Jurassic World 2" is set for 2017 and "Ant-Man and the Wasp" for 2018. But there are no reports yet if Greer will be returning to the sequels of these blockbuster films as noted by TMN.
Meanwhile, Greer can do her best to play her role Chimp Cornelia in this anticipated sci-fi movie. "War For The Planet Of The Apes" is expected to hit the theatres on July 14, 2017.
