In the novel, her character is a struggling alcoholic who is going through a difficult time in her life. Events unfold after she unwittingly witnesses a domestic crime from her window.
The 32-year old British actress is also generating some Oscar buzz for her role as a female FBI agent in the crime-thriller 'Sicario' directed by Denis Villeneuve. Another actress to join the female-centric action is Rebecca Ferguson of 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' fame. She will be playing Anna.
The film is now officially slated to be released on October 7, 2016, according to Forbes. Its new schedule would pit it against potential blockbusters such as Channing Tatum's 'Gambit'. Other cinematic releases for that weekend include the musical movie 'Monster High' and action-thriller 'The Accountant' starring Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick.

The role was originally offered to Chris Evans, who dropped it due to scheduling conflicts. The 44-year old actor, director and screenwriter is best known for his work on films such as 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle', 'Mullholland Dr.', 'American Psycho'. He has also written for 'Iron Man 2', 'Rock of Ages' and 'Zoolander 2'.
