'Assassin's Creed' leading man Michael Fassbender stars as Callum Lynch. The newest photograph has emerged of him from on-set leaving some clues for audiences as to what to expect. The actor admits that he is interested in making a franchise out of the first film that has begun shooting with director Justin Kurzel.

According to Collider, the newest photograph from on-set has just been released online. The image of Michael Fassbender, turning his back to the camera, was posted by production company DMC Film with a caption, "Michael showing that progress really does require sacrifice... #assassinscreedmovie @assassinscreed @AymarMtl." His character was without the expected 15th century garb that was first revealed in a previous image.

The grey wall beside a modern-looking Fassbender had the words "Progress requires sacrifice." According to /Film, it could be that Fassbender was Callum Lynch in the photograph and not his ancestor Aguilar. What looks to be bruises on his nape may not hold much significance, however, it resembles the shape of the Assassin's Creed logo.

According to IGN, the multi-award winning German-Irish actor expressed his enthusiasm for involvement with more entries into the live-action series. He said that he was "absolutely interested" in taking part of an 'Assassin's Creed' franchise depending on how well the first film does. The actor has already begun filming last August with director Justin Kurzel who is famed for another big-screen adaptation of a Shakespearean play 'Macbeth'.

Fassbender will play Callum Lynch who utilizes modern revolutionary technology to visit his ancestors in 15th Century Spain through genetic memories. He discovers his familial connections with an ancient assassin Aguilar, member of a secret society. He uses his knowledge to fight off an oppressive Templar organization in the present day.

'Assassin's Creed' is an upcoming action-adventure film scheduled to be released on December 21, 2016. The full-length motion feature is based on the popular award-winning game series of the same name. It stars Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, and Michael Kenneth Williams.
