The second season of Marvel's "Agent Carter" will have new faces joining the cast. Ken Marino is the newest addition, set to play mob boss, Joseph Manfredi while Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will be having a new love interest in the coming season.
Variety reports that Ken Marino's (Wet Hot American Summer, Vinyl) character is part of the Maggia crime syndicate. He is one of the volatile leaders who will side with Peggy Carter's enemies to help them in their missions.
Marino also worked with "Agent Carter" showrunners before in the CW series "Reaper". Showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas were the creators of the said series and gave Marino another role in their latest show. The showrunners and Chris Dingess shared to Variety, "We've loved working with Ken ever since he played a gay ex-demon for us on 'Reaper', and we were so happy he was available for this role... His range is incredible - he can go from comedy to romance to drama with ease. Writing for him is easy, because he can do pretty much anything."
Meanwhile, it was also reported that Peggy will have a new love interest in Season 2, but no further details have been released. However, it was revealed that Reggie Austin from "Devious Maids" will also be starring in the next "Agent Carter" as Jason Wilkes. His character was said to be the "quirky yet charismatic scientist." In addition, Marvel's head of television and "Agent Carter" executive producer, Jeph Loeb, shared in an interview that they were deeply impressed with Austin for he has very handsome and charming featuresm yet at the same time has the ability to be "extremely accessible."
Hayley Atwell stars as the secret agent for the Strategic Scientific Reserve. She holds true to her commitment in fighting against new atomic-age threats during the Second World War and she is now off to Los Angeles to accomplish her most dangerous mission yet.
