HTC, just like other smartphone makers, have promised its patrons the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Fortunately, the HTC One M8 recently got the Bluetooth SIG Certification, indicating that Google's newest operating system is ready to roll out for the device.
According to Phone Arena, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for HTC One M8 has received its certification from the Bluetooth SIG. The Taiwanese tech giant submitted the request on September 22 and the Bluetooth certification authority signed the documents a week after. This happening is very common since the smartphone manufacturers most often prioritize its recent models when it comes to rolling out Android updates, just like the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Furthermore, HTC confirmed that phones from its One M line-up will start receiving the Android 6.0 update in late 2015. The HTC One M8 owners are fortunate enough to receive the OS update soon as it has already received the go signal from Bluetooth SIG. This is an indication that the company is on track with the release schedule, but HTC haven't given specific date yet.
In addition, Yibada cited other devices that are eligible with the Marshmallow upgrade. The HTC Desire 816, Desire 820, Desire 826, One M8 Eye, One M8, Butterfly 3, One ME, One E9, One E9 Plus, One M9 Plus and One M9 are fortunate to receive the update sometime soon.
However, HTC's Jason Mackenzie emphasized that the HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 will most probably obtain the latest Android version before the end of 2015.
Neurogadget said on its article that even after HTC will start rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its devices, it will take some time until the carriers from all over the world will make the latest OS OTA update available for every device. The update should undergo testing first before they could release it to the public.
As of the moment, the US carriers Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile haven't uttered any word yet when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update will get released for the HTC devices.
For now, users of HTC One M8 and other above mentioned devices still have to keep an eye for further announcements about the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
