The Apple Watch that was introduced April this year by the American tech giant has finally arrived in India. The price of the Apple device has a starting price of Rs 30,900. Some of the details about the variants of the smartwatch were also stated and elaborated.
Tech2 recently reported that Apple has finally launched the Apple Watch in India today, November 9, 2015. The gadget comes in three variants; Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition, having two sizes which includes the 38 mm and 42 mm. It is accessible in Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray, Silver Anodized Aluminum, polished Silver or Space Black stainless steel and 18-Carat Rose Gold and Yellow Gold color variants.
When it comes to the device's price, the 38mm Silver Aluminum Case or White Sport Band is tagged at Rs 30,900 while the 42mm costs Rs 34,900. The watch that adopts the 38mm and 42mm Stainless Steel Case with the White Sport Band on the other hand, is priced at Rs 48,900 and Rs 52,900 respectively.
Furthermore, the price goes up to Rs 95,900 if purchased with the stainless steel Link Bracelet and Rs 60,900 with the Classic Buckle leather strap choices of two colors. Meanwhile, the red colored sport band is another option that was recently released.
The Apple Watch Edition that was made in 38mm 18-Carat Rose gold casing starts paired with the cheapest White Sport Band is priced at Rs 8.2 lakh while its 42mm version is at Rs 95,90,000.
In addition, Tech Times stated that Apple could trump the Apple Watch Hermes designer versions in India which was the most expensive among the variants. The device would cost Rs 14.2 lakh at about $21,585, but that alone might keep this variant out of the country for some time.
CNET said on its report that the Apple Watch is already available outside the US, particularly in UK, France, Germany, China and Japan. The company has been rolling out the watch to other markets on a regular basis. Luckily, last month it expanded to Brazil, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Based on the price of even the least expensive model, the Apple Watch would face challenges in India considering its several rivals that offer cheaper and older models like Samsung's Gear 2 and the LG Watch Urbane, as well as the upcoming Samsung Gear S2 and the new Motorola Moto 360.
