Players with access to participate in the Overwatch beta will experience three new playable heroes revealed at Blizzcon. Expected to launch in June 2016, Overwatch is announcing some big news as early as now.
D.Va, Mei and Genji are the new heroes confirmed at Blizzcon, according to PC Gamer. However, the game will not be free-to-play, which means the developers aren't still sure on how they will introduce new characters or if they will at all.
Venture Beat have tried the game and reported what the new team-shooter heroes in Overwatch have to offer. They also noted that a player may swap Overwatch heroes during the mid-game by going back to the spawn point or by simply respawning after death.
D.Va is described as a mech-style tank with the ability to quickly glide, which allows her to maneuver. She possesses Defense Matrix shield which she can easily aim where the player is looking. Her ultimate leave her mech on a self-destruct mode which gives high damage to any nearby hostiles when it goes off.
The frost flinger Mei uses freeze ray which slows down and gradually stops any targets in sight. She can produce a wall of ice which blocks a huge part of a city street. Her ultimate ability is shown in a device which she tosses and creates an ice storm which slows every enemy inside.
Genji is Hanzo's betrayed brother who uses sword that can cut through any opposing team. His Deflection skill, where he sends projectiles toward his target, is considered a hard counter to sniper classes.Dragon Blade, Genji's ultimate ability, produces melee blow where enemy will die in just a short time.
In another report from IB Times, Blizzard has announced that there will be more animated shorts to be released for the game. This means that the reel of animated shorts presented by visual effects supervisor Jeff Chamberlain during BlizzCon were not the first and last ones.
Overwatch fans get more excited as the released date of the game is approaching. With Overwatch beta offering three new BlizzCon characters, they know that 2016 will be fun.
