The "Street Fighter" franchise has always been a crowd-favorite ever since its conception. However, it seems Capcom is now quite specific with its target audience, as the company hopes for the forthcoming game "Street Fighter 5" to reach "newer, younger" fans. In fact, brand manager Brian Ayers admitted that they desire for the latest installment to be "approachable and accessible again."

According to Push Square, the "Street Fighter" series has since been known as the kind that requires huge amount of time and effort. Hence no wonder most of its following are absolute gamers who enjoys hardcore gaming experience. However, the pages have turned, as Capcom wants the upcoming installment, "Street Fighter V," to be more than just that. The Japanese video game company reportedly wants the brawling game to attract a wider audience.

In an interview with MCV, brand manager Brian Ayers revealed that Capcom's primary goal for "Street Fighter 5" is to attract "newer, younger audience" and to make the latest franchise "approachable and accessible again." It is also Capcom's goal to put individuality to each character, so as for gamers to chance upon the apt competitor that best suit them.

GameSpot, on other hand, noted that Capcom is also eager to introduce "Street Fighter 5" to the competitive gaming crowd similar to eSports fanatics. And although most would agree that "Street Fighter" is considered as one of the original eSports titles, it is rather underground when compared to the likes of "League of Legends" and "DOTA 2." The publication added that Capcom is not only making things different in terms of the game, but as well as its business model.

"Street Fighter 5" is slated for a February 2016 release across PC and PlayStation 4. From there, people can tell if the game did indeed attract a "newer, younger" audience.
