Hugh Jackman himself announced that the next "Wolverine" sequel will be his last. A lot of fans took this with a heavy heart but what they can look forward to the next movie aside from having an epic story arc is that the iconic character's cameos in Fox-Marvel movies before the movie premieres in 2D, 3D and IMAX theatres nationwide.
Movie Pilot reports that Hugh Jackman will do one last "Wolverine" movie before calling it quits. According to the actor himself, the next time will be the last time. The actor also added that the next one will be the best one in the franchise.
The acclaimed actor hinted at Comic Con that they might adapt the Old Man Logan arc. This statement alone paved the way for a lot of speculations online.
A possible challenge to this story arc though is Hawkeye plays the secondary protagonist while the Hulk will be one of the antagonists. However, Wolverine is known to be not in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe as the two heroes from "Avengers".
Aside from the mentioned characters, most stories are too dark for mainstream fans like when Wolverine himself kills the whole X-Men team under Myterio's illusion that they are all villains.
Series author Mark Miller has a more positive perspective of successfully adapting the story arc to film. According to him, they can get around minor challenges like licensed characters.
Though the plot is not yet clear, fans can expect clearer and larger images on 72-foot screens because according to sources, 20th Century Fox and IMAX Corporation have agreed to show both "Deadpool" and "Wolverine 3" at IMAX screens.
Before the movie comes out, fans can look forward to possible Wolverine cameos in upcoming Fox-Marvel movies. CinemaBlend reports that the X-Men crew is back in Montreal to reshoot some scenes for the "X-Men: Apocalypse" movie. According to the article, it is possible that these are some scenes featuring the adamantium clawed hero.
Another possible cameo that fans are really anticipating is for the "Deadpool" movie. There are a lot of funny scenes between the two heroes in the comic books and fans are hoping such scenes will be featured in the movie as well.
Hugh Jackman has been vocal about how he loves to play the character that made him a household name. The dilemma is, Logan does not age and Hugh Jackman does.He will retire his claws when "'Wolverine 3" comes out to theaters on March 3, 2017.
