The cast of Silicon Valley is expanding as the show hits its third season sometime next year. So far, only casting developments have been reported for the HBO comedy. This includes the addition of Stephen Tobolowsky amd Erin Breen. Meanwhile, series star Martin Starr has been featured to promote Microsoft’s Xbox Innovation.
In the new bunch of episodes, it appears that viewers will be meeting a new villain to butt heads with Richard and co. As first reported by Deadline, Silicon Valley has recruited The Goldbergs actor Stephen Tobolowsky to board the new season in a recurring role.
The veteran actor has been tapped to play the aggressive and formidable Jack Barker, a Silicon Valley CEO who will be competing against the Pied Piper team.
Tobolowsky’s movie credits include: Groundhog Day and Memento.
Additionally, the HBO series has also collared Erin Breen to board the new season. The actress, who will also be appearing on a recurring basis, will play Jan – a new salesperson hired by the Richard and co. The Wrap first learned the casting news.
Jan’s addition to the Pied Piper crew may ignite a romantic arc for the series, although that is yet to be determined as the series moves forward.
Last September, Silicon Valley bagged two Emmy awards for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series and Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program. Mstarz reported the news.
Meanwhile, actor Martin Starr who plays Gilfoyle on the show, has been featured on the latest promotion for Xbox Innovation. The one-minute clip shared via Youtube sees Starr taking credit for developing new upgrades about the said program for Microsoft.
“Xbox One backward compatibility is now a reality,” the actor said with a straight face. While later adding that he “just made that happen”.
What’s more, the highlight of the brief teaser finds Martin repeatedly saying “You’re Welcome” to Xbox followers. The system upgrade has been launched on Nov. 12th on Xbox One.
