Just like iPhone 5 was plagued with 'bending complaints' during its launch, the iPad Pro is now receiving a barrage of bad feedback after the device reportedly shut down completely in the middle of charging it.
Yibada reports that complaints were spotted all around the web of the iPad Pro - the device that Tim Cook boasted would make people no longer want PCs and laptops - shutting down when left plugged. Many early adopters have had to resort to a hard reset to bring the tablet back to life.
Various owners have reported that the iPad Pro would shut down. Others minutes after plugging in the device, while others an hour or more after plugging it in. The issue seems to be a software issue, as changing the charger does not solve the problem.
According to MacRumors, the number of complaints continue to grow in Apple support communities, Mac discussion forums and on social media. The issue has seemed to have affected both the 32GB and 128GB iPad Pros on iOS 9.1, including Wi-Fi and LTE models.
Some recommended fixes include installing iOS 9.2, which has been said to work for some users, or shutting down the iPad Pro before charging it, which is really an inconvenience if users would opt to continue using the device as it is being charged.
In related news, PC Advisor has published Apple-confirmed prices for the UK, which are as follows:
- iPad Pro Wi-Fi (32GB): £679
- iPad Pro Wi-Fi (128GB): £799
- iPad Pro Wi-Fi + cellular (128GB): £899
The iPad Pro was released last November 11, and these chargegates issues do nothing good to further plans for Apple's scheduled releases in other parts of the world. However, the Apple that everyone knows will most probably have an issue fix for this soon as the problem seems to be a software one, which can be more easily addressed than a hardware problem.
