'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming superhero film by Zack Snyder that pits the titular characters against each other. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, explained the reason behind the conflict with Ben Affleck's Batman. Meanwhile, ex-Batman actor Christian Bale admitted that he was "oblivious" to Snyder's new film.
Cavill plays Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman in the upcoming DC superhero flick. According to the Guardian, his character will battle it out with Ben Affleck's - a conflict stemming from the destruction following Superman and General Zod's altercation earlier in the film.
Cavill said, "What happens there is one of Bruce's buildings gets destroyed and he's trying to save all the people inside the building and he can't... So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?"
Meanwhile, according to E! Online, Christian Bale shared his thoughts on the upcoming film where Affleck is set to replace him as Batman. When asked about his opinions on Zack Snyder's live-action adaptation he said, "I'm not thinking anything... I'm sort of totally oblivious to it-I've removed myself but, um, you know, yeah, I mean, great... I'm happy to have to done it and I'm happy to see what someone else does with it." Bale portrayed Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in Christopher Nolan's trilogy 'The Dark Knight'.
Affleck, the latest actor to take on Gotham City's caped crusader, admitted that he asked Bale for advice when he casually bumped into him at a Batman costume row of a store while shopping for Halloween costumes for his son Samuel. Bale allegedly joked, "Make sure you can piss in that suit." Affleck joins Bale, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Adam West in the roster of actors who portrayed DC's iconic superhero.
According to MovieWeb, Affleck and Cavill will be joined by a cast of familiar and upcoming actors for 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. Gal Gadot plays Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman while Jesse Eisenberg plays Lex Luthor, Jr. Diane Lane and Amy Adams return to reprise their roles as Martha Kent and Lois Lane respectively.
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming sequel to 2013's 'Man of Steel'. It is a superhero film based on DC's comic book characters of the same name to be directed by Zack Snyder. It is intended as the second installment in the DC Extended Universe.
