LG is gearing up to roll out the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow to LG G3 devices in Europe as early as mid-December. To be exact, the latest mobile operating system is slated to arrive from December 16 -18.
According to Know your hand held, the Android Marshmallow update will be released in Poland during December 16-18. One report from the country has actually suggested that the update is in its final stage of testing and will soon roll out. Jaroslaw Bukowski, an executive from LG Poland, has also revealed that that the update is actually already set.
International Business Times reports that some of the key characteristics that will be put up by the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow includes the Android Pay which is a contactless mobile payment scheme that will enable Android users to carry out payments at supported retail merchants through a virtual account number which has users' account information on their debit/credit cards. Users' exact debit/credit card information will not be given out by this system.
Moreover, it will include the feature of Google Doze where multiple background processes/tasks activated by Android OS will be automatically compressed in order to provide improvement with overall battery life every time those devices are in idle for a long period of time. The standby time could be doubled by this feature.
Also, it includes a feature of a fingerprint scanner with a functionality that comes along with Android Pay and the ability to provide better security of the smartphone. In addition, the biometric sensors are also being supported by this technology.
The LG G3 is currently running on Android Lollipop while waiting to meet the latest Android Marshmallow OS. Last October, LG was reportedly ready to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the F400S, F400K and F400L, the three variants of the LG G3, Tech Times wrote.
Nevertheless, Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware build has already reached the final phase of testing and after releasing it to Poland users of LG G3, it will next roll out in other countries of Europe. However, there is no word with regard to when this update will be released globally.
