"Empire" Season 2 Episode 10, which is the mid-season finale, will reportedly see Lucious possibly being removed as the CEO of his company. The official synopsis has also been released for the upcoming episode.
According to International Business Times, Cookie and Hakeem are still being looked out for by Lucious and in the mid-season finale of "Empire" entitled "Et Tu, Brute?," the two will be returning the favor. According to the synopsis, Lucious will be making a reckless play for Swiftstream, the music streaming service that he has been wanting to get. However, his move will be like a boomerang as it will come back to pester him.
A promotional video has been released and Mimi was seen having a meeting at Empire talking about removing Lucious as the CEO of the company. Mimi wants to take over the company but Cookie and Hakeem will be defending Lucious. Cookie is heard saying, "Lyon Dynasty may be our company, but Empire is our family. And anybody that tries to steal that from us is our enemy."
Cookie will also be seen putting together a concert to be held at the prison where she spent 17 years of her life in. Also, Lucious and Cookie's love life might get a little bit more complicated in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10 as per the promo video, Lucious is seen holding Cookie's hand while crying.
As for Hakeem, his love life will also be complicated as Camilla, a former lover who was sent away in Season 1, will be back. Hakeem also cares for Laura but he also has an issue with Anika, who is obsessing over him. As for Jamal, TV Fanatic shared that in "Empire" Season 2, Episode 9, he shared a kiss with Skye Summers after they performed "Powerful." Jamal is gay but it is yet to be seen in the mid-season finale if the kiss meant something to him.
More on the recap for Episode 9, The New York Times reported that sister Cookie and Candace went to Philly to search for Carol. Carol was sent to a rehab at the end of the episode.
