Sony Xperia Z3+/Z4 smartphones are all set for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade before the year ends, as a minor update had been teased early this week. Recent reports in the tech department revealed that the most refined Android software in history will dress up the phone anytime in December.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is expected to begin rolling out to Sony Xperia Z3+/Z4 smartphones anytime this month. The news came after the Xperia Z3+/Z4 device's family, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, received a minor update with the Stagefright fix earlier this week.
As the new firmware was made available to some of these models, some reports have surfaced that it could be a pre-emptive move of the Japanese giant before it officially lets out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow build. However, there is no closure coming from Sony as of now with regards to the real score of the exact release date.
Meanwhile, Marshmallow will be made available to E6553 models of Xperia Z3+/Z4.
Sony Xperia Z3+/Z4 is 5.2-inch smartphone released in June 2015. Its screen is made of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen protected by a sturdy scratch resistant glass and a oleophobic coating material. The phone also features dust, water and shatter-proof build, 20 MP main camera, 5 MP front camera, 3 GB of RAM and a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery.
With the Marshmallow build, Xperia Z3+/Z4 will get already popular features like power-saving feature called Doze, App Standby and a more personal apps permissions.
Doze operates when the device is idle as it automatically places it into a deep nap. Even the device is down to its battery life, it will still ring up phone's alarm.
For less frequently used apps, they could no longer drain battery consumption because the App Standby will manage their effect on the battery. Another feature on the block is the new app permissions that can be personalized according to one's taste. With Marshmallow, users are given the choice to determine which information to share and when to do them. Permissions can also be turned off anytime.
