Acer is bound to release another smartphone called the Liquid X2 in January next year. This upcoming handset which is expected to sport a triple LTE sim card slots and long battery life will be unveiled together with Liquid handsets Z330, Z530 and Z630.
According to iDigitalTimes, the Acer Liquid X2 which was announced in April was supposed to be unveiled in the U.S. in May but the smartphone was nowhere to be found. The site reports that Acer has finally confirmed that it will be available in Asia by January 2016.
Latin Post cited some of the features that might be present in the Liquid X2. A triple-SIM handset that has support for 4G and LTE is predicted to be included in the upcoming device. It will also carry a 13-megapixel primary shooter with LED flash and a huge 4,000 mAH capacity battery that will be enough to sustain phone usage for long hours.
The Acer Liquid X2 is expected to be built with a 5.5-inch HD IPS screen, a 64-bit octa core processor with 3GB RAM and a 32GB internal storage.
Meanwhile, Acer is also expected to release three other Liquid-branded devices in Malaysia: the entry level Z330, the mid-range Z530 and the upper mid-range Z630. As per Android Headlines, these devices were originally announced during the IFA show back in September and have been made available almost three months later.
The Acer Liquid Z330 features a 4.5-inch display with 854 by 480 pixel screen and is engineered with a quad core, 32-bit, Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor that has a maximum clock speed of 1.1 GHz. The Snapdragon 210 is packed with a 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot for memory expansion. This device has a 5MP rear camera and is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.
Acer Liquid Z530 on the other hand, is a more powerful handset across the board with the quad core, 64-bit, 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6735 System-on-Chip and 2GB RAM under its chassis. It houses 16GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot. The handset also sports a 5.0-inch, 720p resolution IPS LCD and an 8MP main camera which are all powered by a slightly larger battery of 2,420 mAh.
The last model, Acer Liquid Z630, uses the same chipset as the Z530 (the 64-bit MediaTek chip) but it features a 5.5-inch 720p display, a 4,000 mAh battery and 8MP front and rear-facing snappers. All of the three smartphones are said to arrive with Android 5.1 Lollipop under the Acer Liquid user interface.
The specs and features of the aforementioned handsets were not yet confirmed by Acer so buyers will have to wait for the verification from the Taiwanese company. However, if Acer plays the right cards, Liquid X2 or the upcoming Z series could be one of the powerful and competitive smartphones to be released next year.
