The Samsung Galaxy S6 is confirmed to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Just recently, leaked screenshots showed the handset's new interface and manual camera mode as it runs on Google's newest operating system. This may be an indication that the release of the update is forthcoming.
According to Android Headlines, Google has introduced Material Design a couple of years ago together with the launch of 'Android L'. It was clear that the biggest search engine company wanted Android to go in a new, more colorful direction where interface design was a big concerned. Before, the theme was just black and blue design of Holo. However, with the launch of Android 5.0 Lollipop, it has now been replaced with a responsive, reactive and colorful flat theme.
Since then, Material Design has reached a number of Google products online and in many Android apps, as well as some of the company's partners have trailed the step.
A lot of Android manufacturers, such as LG and Samsung are known for making skins on top of Android with 3D stylized icons that try to ape real-world objects. With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, it looks like Samsung could take things further.
Meanwhile, Android Authority added that the leak shows that the Android Marshmallow update will bring a manual camera mode to Samsung's Galaxy S6. This exhibits new options to manually configure the camera shutter speed, ISO, exposure and white balance that have all been added into the application's interface. This will definitely please the photographers out there especially that these features are already available in the Note 5 version of Samsung's flagship range.
Moreover, Phone Arena added that the Galaxy S6 Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is currently under testing and the official roll out is scheduled to start next month. Galaxy Note 5, however, is bound to receive the update this month as revealed on the leaked roadmap.
As the leaked screenshots of Samsung Galaxy S6 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow surfaced all over the wire, this may indicate that the update is really just around the corner. Stay tuned for more updates.
