'Heroes Reborn' Updates: Channel 5 UK Acquires Show’s Rights; Cast Joins DC Universe; Will The Show Get Another Season?

By

Heroes Reborn is set to come back next year for its final three episodes. While in hiatus, it seems like the hit show has gained more fans in United Kingdom with Channel 5's acquisition for the show's rights. Many are now speculating that a season two will be in the works since the show is gaining much popularity. Meanwhile, cast member Marco Grazzini will appear as a villain in The Flash.

According to Franchise Herald, Heroes Reborn reportedly helped it gain the hype it needed and NBC has tagged it an "even series". But although it has gained 6 million viewers, a second season is most likely not pushing through as the show has fallen into the middie tier of NBC shows. Still, series creator Tim Kring is "still positive" the show will have a second season.

Meanwhile, TV Wise reported that Channel 5 has closed a deal with NBC Universal International Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to 13 episode event series Heroes Reborn for their digi-net 5* starting next year. It is the latest high-profile acquisition from the UK network as part of their mandate to acquire many US shows for their younger audience.

In another news, Heroes Reborn cast memer Marco Grazzini will appear in The CW's The Flash as the supervillain Tar Pit according to Newsarama. Tar Pit is the alias for Joe Monteleone, a small-time criminal who is related to a drug lord named Jack "The Candyman" Monteleone. He discovered his superhuman power when he was still young, and that he has the ability to transfer his consciousness to inanimate objects including hot tar.

Heroes Reborn is currently in winter hiatus and the final three episodes will premiere January 2016. The last three episodes will focus on Claire Bennet's twins, Tommy and Malina, and what will become their destiny to save the world.
