'Tyrant' Season 3 Update: 10 Episodes All Set For 2016 Premiere

By

Tyrant Season 3 is in the works and is said to premiere on 2016. FX Network and the show's creator have been mum on about next season's storyline. Many believe that Barry will become the new King of Abuddin.

Deadline reported that season 2 of Tyrant has been better received creatively and has done well in delayed viewing, averaging 2.47 million total viewers and 1.05 million adults 18-49 in Live+7. These figures give an advantage for the producers of the show to continue with season 3 despite the criticisms and negative reviews from viewers.

According to iSchoolGuide, the show's co-developer Howard Gordon believed that the drama series has been well-embraced by the Arab community despite a massive backlash from some viewers due to the plot's sensitive subject.

"The response from groups of dissidents and people who were either jailed in Egypt or fled Syria or are still in Egypt has been extremely positive," Gordon explained before the debut of season 2.

Tyrant is a story about Bassam "Barry" Al-Fayeed and his family who flew from America to his hometown Abuddin, a chaotic fictional Middle Eastern country led by his brother Jamal Al-Fayeed. After Jamal was killed by his daughter-in-law Nusrat, it appears that Barry, the youngest son, is next to the throne.

As previously reported, Barry was disguised as a doctor in the entire season 2 trying to save his war-torn country and even as he is next in line, it would seem like his stronger and fiercer son Sammy Al-Fayeed will become Abuddin's next ruler.

The original cast composed of Adam Rayner, Ashraf Barhom, Jennifer Finnigan, and Moran Atias will return for season three. The series is created by Gideon Raff and co-developed by Howard Gordon and Craig Wright. The third installment will still be shown on FX Network.
