Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo handsets in Russia recently received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. It was originally not included on the list of Samsung devices to obtain Android Marshmallow, but still it is somewhat lucky to receive the latest Lollipop upgrade.
According to Softpedia, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo was launched back in 2013 running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. Samsung has next released Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, and more recently, the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Now, this handset will again be upgraded to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, although the update has only been released in Russia for the unlocked version.
International Business Times stated the step-by-step procedure on how to manually check if the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade is already available. First, drag down the notification bar and then tap settings. Next, users will have scroll the system category, and go to about device. Then, they will have to tap software update, then check for updates and finally tap okay. The users will also have to select Continue or remind me later, after a customized status message is displayed. After these steps have been completed, a status message will indicate when the installation gets completed.
Latinos Post cited some of the improvements and enhancements that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update would bring to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. A few of which is an improved user interface experience as well as tweaks made to help improve the battery life. The new interface is now more dynamic and easier, something that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo owners are expected to benefit from.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo features NFC capabilities, which means that the latest Android OS will set up the device with previously installed applications including wallpaper and screen layouts. The update will also carry on the WiFi and location settings that may have been previously set.
Moreover, the Android 5.1.1 update should help out device owners to sync their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo with other Android-run devices like smartwatches or TV sets and provide a security patch addressing the celebrated Stagefright bug.
