Apple has released iOS 9.2 just six weeks after iOS 9.1's release. The mobile OS update brings a handful of bug fixes and performance improvements.
The iOS 9.2 mobile operating system update for Apple devices marks a total of about 30 changes that the Cupertino based company has made on the experience, according to Tech Times. One of the notable changes involves the Music app, wherein users can now make a playlist when adding the first song. Also, more useful is the update that adds most recently changed playlist at the top, making playlist creation a whole lot faster.
Apple has also rolled out a new service called, Mail Drop, that allows users to send up to 5 gigabytes worth of files using the Apple Mail app through their Cloud Drives. Prior to the update, Mail Drop was an OS X exclusive feature. Extreme Tech further adds that Mail Drop was present in the beta testing of iOS 9.0, but was removed due to some errors that were unresolved.
Another update is the inclusion of 3D Touch features to iBooks that allows users to peek and pop out pages from the table of contents. The iBook app now also allows playing audio books in the background.
According to N4BB, there is no existing jailbreak yet for iOS 9.2, but it has been reported that Pangu and TaiG teams are working to provide an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool.
In other related news, Apple has released a new USB Camera Adapter that connects the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus to an SD card reader, making transferring of files a whole lot easier. The latest iOS 9.2 update also comes with the drivers that support the USB to lightning adapter.
Apple released the latest mobile operating system, iOS 9.0, last September 16, 2015, and iOS 9.2 is the company's second major point update.
