EP Ronald Moore revealed some meaty details about what fans can expect next in "Outlander" Season 2. The show also earned 3 nominations for Golden Globe Awards 2016, Meanwhile, Claire and Jamie's child, Brianna MacKenzie, will also change the flow of the storyline.
Executive producer Ronald D. Moore discussed with The Wrap about what fans should expect in "Outlander" Season 2. Moore stated, "It's bigger and different. Season 1 was primarily in Scotland so it was Scottish castles, stone walls, heavy wood, more of a rustic world. Now we've traveled to 18th century Paris, which was the most populous, most sophisticated city in the world at the time.
Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) are plotting a conspiracy to stop the Jacobite Rebellion, so it's a more political show, more historical currents of the time, we look at aristocracy, the court of Louis XV, so visually it's a whole different palette. It's fattening and gilt and candelabras, just a more rich world. And it's more French and you're dealing with historical figures for the 1st time."
Other than that, "Outlander" Season 1 recently received 3 nominations for the Golden Globe Awards 2016 for the following categories -- Best Television Series - Drama, Best Actress - Television Series Drama for Balfe and Best Supporting Actor - Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Tobias Menzies who portrayed the season premiere's villain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall, as noted on Franchise Herald.
Moreover, speculations suggest that the 2nd installment of "Outlander" will have some major alterations. iSchool Guide has mentioned that Jamie and Claire Fraser's daughter Brianna MacKenzie's presence will be changing the flow of the storyline.
As of now, "Outlander" Season 2 is speculated to premiere around March or April 2016 exclusively on Starz. "Outlander" is an American-British TV drama series created by Ronald D. Moore. The storyline is based on Diana Gabaldon's novel series under the same name.
