Droid Turbo 2 smartphones are now finally receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, following the official release of the new build to Moto X Pure Edition under Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular.
Droid Turbo 2 being exclusively distributed by Motorola, has started to receive the official over-the-air update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device will be available to Employee Edition, which is available to the employees of Verizon Wireless.
According to Phone Arena, retail versions of Droid Turbo 2 might also be able to get the same update pretty soon, which means it could be in the coming weeks. The update has the new build number 24.11.13 for the device.
Droid Turbo 2 will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with features and improvements in battery management, controls and assistance.
For battery management, Google pulls in Doze, a power saving feature. When phone is idle, Doze automatically puts the device into sleep to expand battery life. Aside from Doze, there is also the app standby that limits the impact of seldom used apps from draining the battery.
For controls that have been promised to be greater, users do not need to give access all the time. With Marshmallow, users ware given the control to determine what users want to share and when to share them. Permissions can also be turned off anytime.
Aside from an improved control on permissions, Google also brings in a simplified security with fingerprint without having to compromise it. Forget about logging in with passwords all the time since it can be accessed through the users' fingertip. Use the fingerprint sensor to unlock phone, check out products at Play Store and other apps using Android Pay.
For contextual assistance, Marshmallow revamps suggestions on Google Now with a more intuitive innovation. With Now on Tap, the device will recommend apps, information, or anything that users might need at the moment.
