'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is an upcoming fantasy-adventure film of J.K. Rowling's novel of the same name first published in 2001. The film's newest teaser trailer has finally debuted showing Eddie Redmayne as main protagonist Newt Scamander in 1920s New York.

According to /Film, Warner Bros. revealed the latest announcement trailer as well as the official poster of another live-action adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series. The teaser introduced Eddie Redmayne as the famous "magizoologist" Newt Scamander who completed a global expedition to document numerous magical creatures. The new story from the best-selling franchise is set seven decades before Harry Potter's adventures - specifically in New York in the 1920s.

The upcoming fantasy film also stars Katherine Waterston as Porpentina Goldstein, Ezra Miller as Credence, Colin Farrell as Percival Graves, Samantha Morton as Mary Lou, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein among others. According to Coming Soon, the film trilogy will be Rowling's debut as screen writer as well as returning producer.

Rowling's book was first released in 2001 and was intended as a companion spin-off novel to the Harry Potter series, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' was first mentioned in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' as one of Harry's textbooks in Hogwarts School of Wizardry. The British author's real name did not appear on the cover as she went under the pseudonym Newt Scamander.

A live-action adaptation of Rowling's work was first announced in 2013 and was confirmed to be a new trilogy. The new series will be independent of the Harry Potter films but will be set in the same universe with Newt as the main protagonist.

It follows Newt as he sets off for America in search of magical creatures. He encounters an array of characters - wizards and muggles alike. His journey could have gone without a hitch but a specific stopover in New York conjured up a series of unfortunate events that ultimately risked both the wizarding and non-magical world.

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is scheduled to be released on November 18, 2016. It is directed by David Yates from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. Neil Blair, David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram have signed on to co-produce with Rowling.
