20th Fox Century is putting on hold the production of "Aliens 5" to give way to the sequel of "Prometheus". The director himself, Niel Blompkamp, posted on his twitter the news. Another confirmation from the lead actor this time, Michael Biehn, he told the fans that the movie will pick up from the first installment.
Master Herald noted in its report that Fox will continue and finish the prequel first which is the "Prometheus" trilogy before continuing the making of "Aliens 5". It does totally made sense because viewers will have a better picture of the whole franchise. Releasing "Aliens 5" before the sequel of "Prometheus" will just confuse the movie goers. It was also noted in their report that "Prometheus" sequel is officially titled "Alien: Covenant" and for October 6, 2017 release. The last of the trilogy will be titled "Alien: Paradise Lost" and will begin production on December 31, 2017 in Australia.
"Aliens 5" will most likely disregard the third and fourth installment of Aliens as the director wants to continue where "Aliens" left off. According to HitFlix, Biehn confirmed this in his interview with Icons of Fright. He said Blomkamp wants to carry on with Hicks, Ripley and Newt 20 years after the 1986 sequel. He added that Newt's character will be definitely be wanted by many Hollywood actresses.
Additionally, Biehn confesses that he understood as to why Fox wanted to finish "Prometheus" first. He continued saying if the movies come out right next to each other it would be confusing because the two films are in different worlds. With the new development, DayHerald reported that the franchise will eventually lead to another movie, meaning more money.
Many fans thought the "Aliens 5" will not push through. After the many delays, followers finally get significant and major updates from the star and director themselves. Fans still have to wait for further news and confirmations.
