It was previously stated by Lionsgate that the fourth and last installment of the "Divergent" series will be titled "Divergent: Ascendant" instead of "Divergent: Allegiant" part two. It was also announced that the release date will be moved to June 9, 2017 from March 24, 2017.
The last movie of the successful franchise "Divergent" will be titled "The Divergent Series: Ascendant." This move from Lionsgate, according to EcumenicalNews, made fans hope for a better ending for the main character, Beatrice 'Tris' Prior. With the change, the fans are expecting something different for the movie. They wanted the author of the book and the screenplay, Veronica Roth, to make a better ending for Shailene Woodley's character.
However, the author, disregard those and firmly said the movie will see the same ending with the book. She stated that she thought about it for a long time but came to a conclusion that it would not give justice to Tris' character. She added that the transformation Tris will go through is very important and powerful, she just can't have her character behave like nothing happened and continue to on with her life.
The decision made by the author was supported by Woodley 100%. She said it is rare for a character to live after taking risks and giving herself selflessly to other people. It was seconded by Theo James who plays as 'Four' in the film. RealtyToday said James revealed that there will be no major changes in the movie but only minor ones. Viewers will see background stories of some characters, including Tris' mother as a young girl and Four as a child.
As per the release date, HollywoodReporter said Power Rangers will get the old release date of "Ascendant" that was previously to be released on Jan. 13, 2017. The new release date of "Ascendant" will be the same with Brad Pitt's "World War Z 2".
No matter how much the fans want to see Tris survive everything, they have to wait for the 'Divergent Series: Ascendant' to be released. Before that, they need to anticipate the third movie first which will be released next year.
